you seem to have done your homework.
5B4 is correct for that lumi van, and i'll be emailing you momentarily and sending it to mark as well to host it for anyone that needs it in the future.
as for the ABS, it looks as if the A174 and A197 stream for the delco ABS VI is actually identical with some terminology change, so i'll be sending that as well...

Thanks Robert. I will look them over tonight when I get home from work.
Because of the ABS problem, I had been doing a lot of research attempting to locate a method by which I could read the ABS codes. It appears the only scanners capable of doing that are the Tech 1/2 and higher end devices ($2000 plus). TunerPro was the only place I found that even inferred the possibility of reading them. I am brand new at all this (still waiting on my cable to arrive in the mail) but do to my electronics background I grasped the process of how all this worked easily.
Thanks again for your help,
Dave

Robert,
Unless I misunderstand the Data Stream files, I have to add a command to disable the PCM [Mode 8] prior to communicating with the ABS module.
Issue a PCM Mode 8 [F4, 56, 08] then
Issue a ABS Mode 0 [F9, 57, 01, 00]
I added the PCM Mode 8 command to the A197 ads file.

you don't always have to enable mode 8, but it is good practice, especially when dealing with chatty systems. i've never had to for communicating with anty ABS module i've dealt with though.DaveB wrote:Robert,

V5 will actually allow you to import a V4 file and save an ADX based on it.85'irocz wrote:Hey guys i just recently got the beta V5 and ive been using v4 for a long time with the datalogging ads files. i noticed the new one has the ADX filetype for ALDL logging. just go to the acquisition tab, and select import definition, find your current ADS, then it will ask where to save the ADX at.

MAP (kPa) in $0D
Hey Robert, would you be able to add MAP in kPa to the $0D.ads file on the Tunerpro.net website? It currently has MAP only in Volts, which doesn't help me.
I figure MAP in kPa wouldn't be too difficult because it is available in DataMaster-0D (ran out of free logs, only need a few extra).
Thanks!

Yep, 0D. I downloaded it from here: http://www.tunerpro.net/download/datastreams/0D.adsrobertisaar wrote:are you sure you meant 0D? the only one i see on the downloads page already has it in kPa, but not volts...
I do not see MAP kPa in there, only DC Volts. But I'm going to try adding the conversion you gave me and see if that works. Thanks for that info!

hey Robert, any ideas on why I can't seem to get data out of this $1A adx file I am working on?
here is the relevant part of the ds file:
I am not totally sure I got the checksums right I am just guessing on the values for them really. It says connected then it never gives any meaningful data.
Also are you willing to write xdf files for people? I can't find any complete tutorials on how to disassemble the bin files so I am probably going to give up and pay someone to write it for me.

Could use an ADS for the 1228747. There seems to be a 4f XDF file for that ECM on Moates site.robertisaar wrote:i've got time on my hands and have been slowly adding to the list on the site, but i don't know what people want/need.

87 - 92 C/K Truck, Van, 5.7L & 7.4L (HD) From what I have read they came witout Knock Sensor or ESC.
The 16144288 is 91 - 92 4.3L S-10 & C/K Truck and on another site lists 16143900 as the same ECM... HTH!

Please excuse my lack of knowledge here. I thought once you had a XDF or ADS it was for that ECM.
I pulled the 1228747 from a truck with 7.4L manual trans It will be used for the same. From what I found on the internet
1228747
Application:1989-90 truck 5.7 V8 TBI “K” L05
1991-92 truck 5.7 V8 TBI “K” L05 w/o 4L80E
1990 truck 7.4 V8 TBI “N” L19
1991 truck 7.4 V8 TBI “N” L19 w/ MT
The other ECM 16144288 AUMH is a freinds that he wants to use on a 4.2L Jeep inline six but it came from a 1990 4.3L TBI V6 astro van.
Not sure if that answers your question...

well, i'll use the 1227727 ECM as an example...
it was used for $55, $6D, $88, $8D, $A1 and even more masks, all of which need different XDF and ADS files.
generally, C3 ECMs only ran 1, maybe 2 masks, but once the P4s came around, GM reused them quite often.
basically, i need to figure out what mask you're dealing with, then finding out which datastream is correct is slightly easier.
"1990 4.3L TBI V6 astro van"
THAT is a great example. if i know what BIN you're going to base a tune off of, that helps as well.

hey everyone, sorry about the lack of updates:
http://www.tunerpro.net/gmOBDI.htm
that project has been taking up a lot of my time.
so basically, now i'm at the point of which streams should i deal with first, since i plan on getting all of them done eventually.
i really can't remember who's stuff i actually had sent/finished.

the $42 has been around a long time, wondering if there is any more in there to get like Injector Size, cylinder volume etc... I see these in maf chips and the 16197427.

Glenn, it sounds like you're referring to the $42 XDF.
it's a bit OT, but i can elaborate on it a bit since it's came up before.
the $42 mask(and quite a few others as well) doesn't use an injector size scalar or a cylinder size scalar either... they are actually both combined into a single scalar/table, usually referred to as BPC/BPW vs EGR%.
couldn't tell you why GM did this, but you'll notice that as EGR% increases, the value decreases, this is due to the gases recirculated by the EGR valve(s) taking up space that combustible air would otherwise occupy, so less fuel is needed, this is how the ECM accounts for that.
so, knowing that smaller numbers deliver less fuel, you can now account for injector flow and engine displacement changes.
larger injectors need a smaller number.
more displacement needs a larger number.
ideally, get an engine tuned on stock injectors(idle fueling correct at least), then:
change your injectors and adjust the BPC/BPW table/scalar until the fueling is corrected again(without playing with the VE tables since VE should not have changed from injectors alone)
or
bore/stroke/drop in a different block with the original injectors and adjust the BPC/BPW until correct. if you go far enough you'll likely need larger injectors on a larger engine anyway, so you can probably skip this step if necessary and make intelligent decisions about VE and BPC/BPW values.

wow thanks for the time to share that! Big light went off in my head why that engine I tuned with EGR DELETE was so far off...

That's why I am confused, there is none? The only other option in tables in the $42 is BPW Constant Multipkier VS Barometric.
Now in Scalars there is a BPW Constant for EGR Off. This is a single setting, no adjustments. So I guess this is the major setting before playing with VE?

Robert,
A while ago you sent me an ADX for $DA3. When you get a chance can you eyeball it and let me know if the equation that calculates the value for Left and Right BPW is correct?
I have looked around for a hack document for this datastream but so far I have come up empty.

tunerpro does not support, and may never support, uploading or downloading tunes from the flash PCMs.
i imagine that could be added in through a plug-in, but i'm the wrong person to ask about that.
for just datalogging, you only need the proper ADX for your application. since you have an auto car, there should be a defintion on the downloads page for you that should work.
