Project going is to hack a GM engine ECU to emulate the car software onto the Laptop that would allow changes to the spark timing / fuel ratio.
I set up this project a few months ago deciding to come back to it again now, downloaded Tuner pro, found i needed an interface connecting the computers binary Rs232 through a CAN transponder connection into the vehicle OBD2 quite nicely this is possible on a 2014 vehicle that has can hi and lo on OBD2.
The serial port RX and TX connected great the computer recognizes the return data through rs232 port by straight connection of the two pins.
My transceiver is a small chip card TJA1051T/E where T/E allows the transceiver chip to be turned off at low current connection point EN Chip pin 5 and a CAN data transfer turn off using low current on connection point S chip pin 8 many tricks on these two board connections.
Not being well up on interface dynamics are the EN and S connections connectable to the Rs232 and if so does a software driver exist to run it or is it a self write software driver challenge as well.
I'm thinking of just connecting the Rs232 pin 4 Data terminal ready pin to the chip pin EN connection so it powers up the chip, but this may require a driver? any suggestions
Hardware interface and interface driver software
