upped to ver5 no aldl data

Post by Hotrod9168 »

The car has been down for the summer, now I've got it back together after some nice mods. ('91 Z-28, T56, LT1 intake, TFS aluminum heads, LB9 5.0L former TPI motor). A lot of work and changes to the car but still an untouched stock '730 ECM system. The car runs and even with very minor changes to tune for things like AIR and EGR removal runs very well until closed loop kicks in.

The trouble I am having.

During that time I upgraded to ver5 RT and now the ALDL data does not show in the dash or monitor and no logging. Using the autoprom, everything connects just fine, even able to emulate as before with ver4 RT. I have followed the directions for fixing the ADX conversion (body size = 67) to no avail.

Can someone help me out with this? I really want to start driving the car without fear of burning it up.

Also, how do you add pics to this post?

Wish I could help you with your tech problem. I would try other .xdf and .adx files. You may find one that works with your new configuration. As to posting pictures, they must come from an external image hosting/photo sharing web site. I joined photobucket (free) and load all photos to that site. Once they are stored in photobucket you can move them to the Tunerpro forum. When in Tunerpro forum click on IMG. This will put a <img> symbol in your message. Now go to photobucket and save the photo you want to show (using the image protocol) When you go back to your message do a ctrl v, this should paste the image on the message you are creating. Hope this works for you. :)

I haven't changed anything but the TPRT Ver5 upgrade.

Thanks for the help with the 'post a picture/image' piece.

Maybe I need to start over with the xdf and adx altogether. I have been using the xdf from before, even had to restart TP a few times once to get it load correctly. I am wondering if windows XP and the assorted updates that kick in all the time may be causing the issue. I don't know, just want to get on the road and start reading the ALDL data.

Update

Post by Hotrod9168 »

well, I got it working. I just tried reloading everything all over again, again by downloading the XDF and ADS again from the TP site.

The new issue is that the tach vs the dash board on the laptop is off by about 3 to 400 RPMs.

Anyone know how to fix this one?

For those who run into what I did. Be aware that TP will remember which ADX/ADS and other files that have used in the past. So if you copy/paste you old ADS into your new installed program file location, TP might be trying to open it. So be sure that TP is using the files that you are alterring. At least this is what I think happend to me. The ADX/ADS file from my V4 TP was still in the folder and I was selecting the one tha had not been updated for V5. I don't know what exactly it was, but now everything is working like a charm. Now onto tuning.
