how to convert .hex to .bin
1G DSM ECU - I have my Chip in .HEX format. What does it take to convert or modify this format to be used in in Tunerpro?
Thanks,

so how is it possible to work without hex to bin converter?
I dont think they have a forum, so whats the problem to ask it over here?
I must be missing something. If you're using software from TunerCat, please seek out support from TunerCat. They're essentially a (friendly) competitor, so you'll understand (or maybe you won't) why it's not in my interest to answer questions about a competitor's software.
If you're using my software, then you'll need to provide more information. What exactly are you trying to do? Where are you seeing "output file offset" and "output file size?" What application is this for? Etc, etc...

Do you also have a little tool like this?
I am using "CATS Hex Binary File COnverter", because i failed with simple importing.Mangus wrote:You haven't yet told me what tool of theirs you're using? You're still leaving out the big picture.
As mentioned earlier tin this thread, you can import hex files from the file->import menu.
If i import my ori file and open the hex, everything I can see is "FF". So I thought maybe my file is in wrong type and I was trying to convert it to BIN.
Maybe you can tell me a better way?
It wasn't the beginning of the discussion for everyone else in this thread.passuff wrote:ok...thank you!Mangus wrote:I would need to write an intel importer. Meanwhile, the tunercat app you use should convert it to .bin for you.
so back again at the beginning of the discussion:
What should I take for "output file offset" and "output file size"??
And my answer still stands. Talk to Tunercat. I've never used that application. Sorry.

that i what i was trying the last 5 minutes. i think the last offset is "3FFF0".dex wrote:.ori files are typically .bin files and not .hex files. I don't use hex files but, from memory, if your vag msa15 file is a true .hex file then you will need to open in it up in a hex editor to find out the offset and size.
but i have no idea what is meant with file size....
