Difference Tool filter option

Can the 'Difference Tool' be made to only find the differences between two bin files in a single category alone?

Preferably this would be selected by means of a drop down category selection box in the Difference Tool dialogue window. Alternatively it could be done by selecting the category desired on the visibility toolbar and the difference tool restricting the search in the same way the 'Find Items' tool does.
