Me7.2 XDF and bin (other goodies if yall want them)

Post by zarboz »

I have a XDF for the me7.2 running the m62tub44

the XDF was generated from the WinOLS project floating around for the e53 x5 and cross referenced against a dump of my e39 540i

It's rather extensive you can find the funktionsramen for the me7.2 used in the 540i with some googling

forums wont let me post

Enjoy :D Now My hunt to understand WHAT to tune starts

https://github.com/zarboz/BMW-XDFs

Also a collection of BMW Xdfs make sure to clone recursive as I have added other gits that are maintained by other folks

some Damos files and A2L files

I have been comparing my 4.4 liter motor file with a 4.6 liter motor file with Dinan tune applied

I have found differences in these tables:

UBDCAN->UBatt threshold for diagnosis CAN timeout
ZLUTSFI->Time constant for filtering uneven running test size
TLAED->Waiting time for detection condition 'driving cycle'
MDNORM->Maximum indexed engine torque for torque normalization
TKATSAN->Catalyst temperature threshold for fuel cut f (nmot)
CWMDKOG->Codeword MDKOG: Ignition angle retardation at negative pressure limitation
DMRKHO->upper Hytereseschrieg Katheiz torque reserve with ZW intervention
DMRKHU->Lower Hytereseschrieg Katheiz torque reserve with ZW intervention
NKUPZWEO->Upper speed Hyteresis threshold for KUP-ZW interventions
NKUPZWEU->Lower speed Hyteresis threshold for KUP-ZW interventions
NLLZWEO->Upper speed Hyteresis threshold for LL-ZW interventions
NLLZWEU->Lower speed Hyteresis threshold for LL-ZW interventions
ETADZW->ZW efficiency as a function of delta ZW
ETALAM->Lambda efficiency
KFZWOP->optimal ignition angle
KFZWOP2->?optimal ignition angle variant 2
NMAXPG->gear-dependent P element in NMAX control
NMXDAEF->Maximum speed for throttle drive replacement function
TNMXPRG->gear-dependent speed prediction horizon for NMAX control
ZINMAXG->gear-dependent I-slope for NMAX control
RLMNN->Characteristic minimum filling
RLMNSAN->Characteristic minimum filling in thrust
ZETABASN->Low pass filter time constant for etabas_w
DZWETA->Delta ignition angle from efficiency

I am still digging and translating will update this post later

Github heavily updated

I have been playing with my 540i and got great results I only have a functionsheet for the ME7.3 and ME7.1 (not for the ME7.2) so some items still need deciphering before they are added to the XDF
