3.4 / 3100 hybrid '7730 starting file

Post by base91 »

I just started in the tuning world. So far just logging and getting familiar with the hard and soft ware. On the tuning side I want to start with simple changes to my '91 3.1. Mainly remove the max speed! However, I'm in the process of putting together a 3.4 ('94) / 3100 hybrid and I'll be looking for a starting tune for the '7730 ecm. Is there one available?
I tried searching but don't get any hits on $88 or $A1. Is that a search quirk or do special characters just not work?

The starting bin, would be the stock 3.1 bin. The 3.4 OHV was not available from GM connected to an OBD1 ECM, so there are no files that will work for the displacement, and the gen3 660s were all OBD2 ECMs, other than an early version, but I think it was still flash based, and would not likely be a good candidate to use in your '7730.

The 3.1 bin file will be a good starting point to get your hybrid running. It will take some tweaking to get perfect, but I know many people that have ran the 3400 on an untuned ECM for many years, without any real issues.

i do have 93-95 3100/3.4 BINs at my disposal.... could probably rip a few values/tables out of them for at least some kind of starting point with A1/88.

Great. I'll get back if I need to after I've learned some more. Thanks.
