Buttons in ADX

Post by rob »

I would really like to have Buttons in the adx part of tuner pro to interact with the ECU. In the Marelli P8 ECU for example i could perform various tests by sending a byte with the MSB set (anything above 0x80). Therefore a Button Feature would be nice. I think of handling it like a gauge in the dash and when pressed performing a task with an ID as it is already done automatically.

Interesting idea. In the meantime, I will soon be adding the ability to trigger commands manually via the "Data Acquisition Send Command" toolbar. Look for that soon.

I like the idea of being able to add buttons to the dashboard.

Glad to hear it. I've been digging into OBD Diagnostics for the last couple of month, even bought some hardware and it occured to me that it would be a nice feature for TP to have logging capabilities with obd too quasi as a successor to ALDL.
I know that there are some problems (5 Baud init, Packet structure, Keep alive packets,...) which are difficult to implement in software and i am not certain thats what TP was intended to be, but maybe with a small box that do the low level work. After my finishing Master Thesis (next April) i will build such a box with an AVR controller.

This would be a very useful funtion for the Marelli ECU, 15M, 16M & P8.
I would like to have it as a dialog box or button.
For two different funtions.
Troubleshooting:
Be able to send different error/status questions and translate the answers.
Perform test:
Be able to perform different testfuntions.
