datalog problem

Post by DSmith1989 »

I'm having a problem datalogging . I have to click on connect several times and then after a few minutes with the car running I start getting Packet error counts that just continue to rise, it acts like it would if you cut the key off or unpluged the aldl connector. I have checked the wires from the aldl plug back to the ecm and everything checks out fine.I'm running the 165 ecm with 6E. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them.
Thanks

Its not unusual to require a few connection attempts to hook up to a 165. The issue where the connection is lost is also relatively common. Every scanner I've ever used does it. I think its an issue with the 165 itself.

The 4.0 beta makes it much easier to connect (you generally only need to press connect once).

Thanks Mark! I have also notice that if I try to connect with Win ALDL I only get 5 or 6 readouts and that the box in the middle of the top where if i remember correctly used to be "25" now flashes red with a "6".
Do you thing a fresh ecm might help?
Thanks again

no, a fresh ECM will likely not solve the issue.
