Table Label Source Link

Post by dex »

When editing a table it would be useful if was possible to open the 'Internal Scale/Normaliser' axis label's source function directly from the window without having to open the xdf item editor window to find out which function is being used. Clint Garrity's new binary editor has this ability and it's a useful feature.

When you say "source function", do you mean you want to open it for editing, or open the table in the workspace?

Hmm, that might be tricky. I'd have to look into how hard it would be to allow more than one item to be edited at once. There are some deeper implications there.

Oops, crossed wires I think, I mean the equivalent of 'Edit item in bin'.

Ah, ok, that's more do-able, but if you have the item editor open and the function opens in the workspace, the workspace isn't accessable because the item editor is modal. I'd have to hide the item editor.

Not being able to have the xdf item editor dialogue window open at the same time isn't a problem as I'm after a quick way of jumping to the axis label function without having to first go through the xdf item editor to find the function being used :D

Oh... OK, now I'm completely on the same page. Open the function bin editor from the parent table's bin editor. Yes, that's totally do-able.

I'm not the best at explaining things at times.
