I've been reading alot about tuning but still not finding the information I need. I just got idle and 1st-3rd gear datalogs. its showing a little knock retard in 3rd gear and AFR is far from tuned.
I'm not really sure where to begin so if someone can give me a good link or take a look at these datalogs I would really appreciate it.
car is a 94 cavalier 3400/3.1 hybrid turbo at 8psi

I was pretty excited about tuning my car today since I got the WB02 working with tunerpro. I even verified the wbo2 readings were correct vs the software the wbo2 came with. and it was I decided to ease back and read more before attemping to change any settings though.
I'm using the $8F TGP code. Since my idle BLMs are 128 I'm going to start changing the fuel VE table. The correct one to change for fuel under load is "FUEL VE % vs RPM" correct?
Theres another table called "FUEL PE Air / Fuel Ratio" which looks like the desired AFR. Does the ECM use this only for INT adjustments?
I'm running a bit rich (9.xx range) in the upper rpms

Sweet. It's good to hear that the data is matching up.
Tuning with the WB is the right thing to do, but you should realize that without going into open loop, tuning will only affect the regions that aren't ECM corrrected (WOT tuning necessitates the WB). Everywhere else the computer corrects the fuel (this is what the BLM is).

In my "FUEL VE % vs RPM" table the values are lower in the upper rpms, but thats where im showing rich AFR. I read that lower values are supposed to lean it out? for instance at 5200rpm its at 44.14, 5600 40.63, 6000 36.72. so do I need to set those even lower?Mangus wrote:Sweet. so modifying the "FUEL PE Air / Fuel Ratio" table would not actually change fuel then? is it just where you put the AFR you want, and compare that to the actual AFR in the datalog?
