hey guys im now to this tuner stuff. out with the carb and in with the efi. I have a 86 monte carlo doing a lt1 swap. engine and tranny is out of a 1996 Camaro lt1. looking for info in tunerpro. I don't know what I need to get started. mostly need it for vats for now to shut it off so I can use the pcm. I have downloaded the free tunerpro and I have a dlc connector cable that is usb not sure what hard ware I need to get started. please help

There is no .xdf files for the 96 OBDII LT1.

What is common in these OBDII swaps is to convert to OBDI PCM and use TunerPro with existing xdf and adx files.
