Ford (EU) Zetec - GSAZ1 - GSBA0 *Def*

Post by XantheFIN »

Hello,

I have been building definition file for my (European) Ford Escort Special -94 which has Zetec engine... ECU's Catch Code is ENVY (EEC-IV). I think strategy for this Definition is called "GSAZ1".

I have in my mind to build more definition files about Zetec engines. Next will be GSBA0 which is much more commonly used with Zetec engines and i have one EEC-IV ECU which uses it.

The Definition File was first build on dex's GUFB -file. He gave me a permission to use that file as a getting start so my personal Thanks to him.

Special Anonymous thanks goes everyone who is worked or spend time on these and shared data or knowledge for everyone on internet.
Updated links 2022 to work again, i closed my old site then randomly remembered these went down too.

Please first in TunerPRO go "tab" XDF -> "View/Edit XDF Header Info" and read that.

*****************
GSAZ1.xdf Version 1.0 *Updated -09.07.2014
*Rip* ENVY.bin -64K *NOTE I didn't use J3 port. I used DCL.
*****************
"ENVY" "AGED" "3AAB" "GURU"
.xdf is like text file so you need click on that link with mouse right button and select "save as..."

*****************
GSBA0.xdf Version 0.2 *Second Release! -08.08.2014
*Rip* SEAL.bin -56K
*****************
"SEAL" "ACHE" "BLOB" "BLIP" "DESK"
.xdf is like text file so you need click on that link with mouse right button and select "save as..."
There is not yet much but i use my time more for this if someone needs this.

*****************
92ED1.xdf Version 0.2 *Second Release! -08.08.2014
*Rip* 2FCD.bin -56K
*****************
"2FCD" "2FDC" "2FBC"
.xdf is like text file so you need click on that link with mouse right button and select "save as..."
There is not yet much but i use my time more for this if someone needs this.

Help / tips are welcome.

-23.8.2013-
Sorry for progress delay but I am now trying to make J3 Adapter by myself because i think i am done enough to test Definition file in real life. And i dont really like moates desing of F3 memory Adapter enough. :)

-30.8.2013-
I made own reader. Did read another ecu which i had. Catch code is 3AAB. It looks like working fine with that too. Updates comes when i get to test tuning IRL. :!:

I think strategy for this Definition is called "GSAZ1"

-17.9.2013-
I am happy to see some views but still not yet ready on J3 Adapter. Just need get parts. BTW after this i think i'll make others Escort Zetec ecus definition. I have *.bin for 2FCD (105HP 1.8l) and 2FDC (130HP 1.8l) because i am making 1.8l engine swap and tuning on that more than this i'll make those two at least.

-29.10.2013-
China Air mail.... Too slow... Where is my pcb.

-04.12.2013-
Ok. Now i have working J3 adapter. Maybe this will progress more soon...?

-04.03.2014-
Very sry about delay. I have had another things in my life but maybe i will now make my own last version of J3 adapter and progress then.

-25.03.2014-
New Version! Share happily. Improve.. what ever.

-03.05.2014-
New Version coming soon later and Lots of stuff! After 9 months of learning and making Definition from a scratch i am gonna finally try it by myself. Just after i get my knock meter via post. : D

-14.05.2014-
New Version Uploaded! Some big mistakes corrected too.

-09.07.2014-
V1.0 GSAZ1 Version Uploaded! Some small mistakes corrected by testing and others added. There is still some which still need 'a look'.

added:
*DASMIN/DASMPH Scalars for idle
*(Main) Decel Fuel Shut Off scalars
*Repetitive Spark scalars and Enable Switch (a bit like MSD for idle)
*... I don't remember what was missing previous one.. but a lot.

-26.07.2014-
92ED1 Definition for couple older Zetecs. I don't know what uses what strategy so can't name all those.

-26.07.2014-
92ED1 and GSBA0 Definitions added couple little things...

Ford Sierra Definition FIles

Post by jason2000i »

Hi from Spain,

Time ago I made an Andrew's EECSucka and a J3 Adapter with my PCB design and with a hard searching with TunerPro I found some tables in 2D and 3D, I made some changes in these tables and I could see that all working properly emulating the 27C512 with Ostrich from Moates.

But the problem was that I found these tables visually and stored them in a XDF archive but I not sure what tables are, I don't know the variables and units, only assumptions.

I have a 92' Ford Sierra DOHC with EECIV plus two EECIV with these BIN's:

8BAC.BIN
8BAB.BIN
2GGA.BIN

(all with 32Kb)

8BAC Dissasembled:

8BAC_Dissasembled.rar

And my definition file for 8BAC:

8BAC.xdf

Can you tell me how do you make to get the definition files to finish my work?

Now I go to put a Turbo and I prefer tuner the EECIV instead of make a MegaSquirt

Thanks, You've done a good job [/url]

Hi,

I am interested to get definition for Sierra's (Granada, Escort RS2000..) but i don't have really anything info for them and tables are much different than in my Escort with MAF sensor. So it would take a time reading through disassembly. There is one guy atleast who has done (i think) definition for Granada. You find him here - eectuning.org tvrfan.

Can you upload somewhere where is not needed FTP passwords? Thanks.
I have one Sierra 2BGA EEC-IV and bin for 2GEA.

I'll help if i find something.

Hi,

Problem solved, now you can download the files,
I'll ask to tvrfan for some indications, thanks

I think that you can emulate those eproms in your sierra EECIV if have a MAP and DOHC motor, I have emulated the 1988 8BAC on 1992 2GGA without problems, if you can share your Sierra's BIN's I would appreciate it. (is not much necesary, only curiosity)

Salutes ;)

I looked quickly and both uses same Strategy - 9WNQXD - thats why you can run both Calibrations on same ECU. :)
I just have 2GEA - 9WNQXC and i don't have sucker to dumb other (2BGA).

I just have the ECU itself and got it for 10 euros as a extra when i bought gearbox so i don't have anything else.

Let's wait him. I have downloaded his *.bins and still available if he doesn't or he is not against me uploading it. So don't worry if needed. There is backup.

Only GSAZ1.xdf was updated containing all what i did found.. others were no as no one asked and i then didn't bothered then use time to those and finally my license to hex workshop ended and i stopped.. Then i am not sure did i upload my -final- of GSAZ1.xdf even here.

But thanks anyway and i hope it can make these ecus reusable in many many things :)

I could but ask dex as he has done all work to that already if i remember correctly. For these no one had give any attention well enough so i filled that hole.

For quoestions about files what was those Sierra.. i have all them and i am now searching that *.rar archive if i find it from my pc anymore. All others were found easily where i did put them in waiting if ever needed.. Yes i am data saver. :D

Ah.. okay then. Dex = sailorbob and he had full definition done for those. But as you told now then no XDF for TunerPro sadly.

I checked back then Binary Editor too but wasn't pleased with it like with TunerPro program as it was so heavily guarded and was buggy if i may say. Much heavier too.. or it was illusional by too nice GUI elements but TunerPro was direct to business! Thats why i made for this one. Clean and simple one.

I believe as he does sell for those Definitions thats why Binary Editor as it can be protected different ways then.

Anyway i could but i am really sorry i have no resources for Cosworth ECU for now and after so long time. I need make something which helps me in long run and i have projects running... And i would need fix my today's car for inspection too.. lol.

I be back for Cosworth then if ever it looks like i can. One dream back then was of course to have Cosworth Escort and locally here was one at least going by time to time to annoy me :D

For very long time to wait Sierra files jason2000i did upload.. Good and bad news. Here is what i had. The *.rar file wasn't found. Sorry people.
2GGA.bin
8BAB.bin
8BAC.bin
8BAC.xdf

Thats all true. But still i bought TunerPro RT Registration back in time and thats my opinion what is better in my mind in earlier told reasons. Maybe the time they have fixed all bugs and its much better when i had it to test :)

Anyway not against Binary Editor or any one with that and i wish everything good for everyone around it! So far all those people are been nice people still in the end so no problems..

No i am not the guy who pushes free code for everyone and bought software is evil and selfish kinda of hippies. As I understand it fully and i relate to it as i have my own too.. It is real work and fun combined and then it keeps you all together to keep making it still better as so far i have facing that 10 out of 100 people says even a thanks ever and 2 out of 100 is being a**holes so its not always even fun. (Not in TunerPro forums no worries).

Not many thinks how many hours and efforts a some things takes when they use the end product which helps you and may save you x amount of money and time or makes something to work or brings up new features.

I made all this as a gift. It stays so as i back then wanted it to be so. Something i am not up to make as a gift but just for little return too to keep myself happy.. i hope still mostly everyone can be happy with the results. That is the main thing.

(Just to remind that never ever no human can't please every single other ones with decisions.. There example always someone who tries to be hero or cant just work with you to become happy *this could be very small thing* and blames you for no good reason(s).. or those are trying just hide something they did )

I thanks everyone in the end and it warms always when someone says even thanks as its very rare with the people in the end to hear it.

Wishing best midnight_man to your project :D
And every one coming by here even just to visit downloading my work and using it as this all was for it!
