Hi
I was curious about how to accurately determine if the sensors in a car is working. I first found out it's better to get typical values at various conditions KOEO/hot idle/driving but then I realize that whatever is recorded is translated by the material of the thermistors or what not.
Hence I think there's only 2 ways to go about accurately checking if sensors are operating normal: 1 is to find out what the thermistor is made of and convert the heat it receives into resistance values, 2 is to go directly to the ECUs to find the tables and get the formulaic conversion that the ECUs use.
So here I'm wondering if anyone could point me to the second option. . I've been looking for hours and can't seem to find any open-source information until now.
Not sure what's meant by ECU definitions too.. from what I read, it seems like translating certain downloaded values to what it's suppose to be?
