Select the smooth option and input a value of 1 or less. This will change how much "smoothing" takes place.

This will blend all adjacent cells to be a smooth transition.

Well, I'm kinda thinking with only 4 injectors and being centrally located, that a TBI ECM, with it's pulse for every DRP, might be the best option, if that TB absolutely had to be used.

I'm pretty sure your right as well, he mentioned that so I just threw out another option. My prefence would be a GM ECM, possibly a 16197427 would be a good choice. I'd have to think about this one for a while. The injectors on that TB are below the throttle plates, but spray at a central location....

Could be a definition issue, could also be checksum disabling not being used.

You need to change the mask byte to AA to disable checksum and allow real time tuning.

Have you tried going back to V4.14 to make sure it still recognizes the Ostrich? Have you tried reinstalling V5? Which one have you found? I've been eyeing up a PC based one that is from Circuit-test. http://www.rpelectronics.com/Data/Thumbnails/TH-DSO-3XXX.JPG It's about $500 from a local brick and mortar store, but I'm sure it can be found cheaper online. I too want to use mine for same or similar uses. :)

From the image of the device manager, it looks like COM1 is the proper port.

Does the COM1 port disappear in the device manager when you unplug the cable?

Ok, wanted to make sure of the test first.

Are you sure that the cable is on COM1?

COM1 is usually used by native serial connection, USB, and Virtual COM ports through USB usually show up as higher port numbers.

Take a look in your device manager to verify the port number for your cable.

No, you don't need any hardware connected to edit the XDF, just have the XDF and ADX/ADS loaded.

Once you click on the drop down menu it should have some selections that are defined by the ADS/ADX, that you have loaded.

That was probably address hit tracing that was being discussed with the BMW, since they don't have an ALDL connection, like the GMs do.
