I wouldn't say you got no help, I understood exactly what is you are trying to do and told you what you need to find out about the Zietronix datastream in order to make this work, on the $59 forum. Without that info, you're just shooting in the dark. There are certain things that need to happen befo...

Switching between instances...Emulation
Is there a way to set-up V5, so that I can have two instances open, with different bins, or even code, and switch the emulator control between them? Tonight on my bench I was testing a certain code with one ECM, it started to show some problems that I couldn't seem to correct by uploading a stock bi...

There are some good ADS/ADXs for $58 on the code59 forum, have you tried them? Also try another ECM, some people have experienced problems with connectivity through the ALDL port with a problematic ECM. A 1227730 can be substituted for the '7749, but may need a couple pins changed, one being for the...

I have seen many discussions of the switches on Ostrich 2.0, there is also the Moates FAQ/help site, that you can access throug the main page at www.moates.net. The switches are for setting up how many pins are being used in your application. In your case both switches should be set to 28. www.third...

This is where the onus is put on you to do some research, and find out what the different tables, scalers and flags do. Many are easy to figure out just from the names, some are not, but usually you don't need to worry about those ones. There are some good XDFs out there for the $0D code that in the...

Item finder issue.
When using the "Find any item this size", it will not find anything that is a specified size. I have tried with V5. 7575, and V5 7686, same result. I get this on both my PC and my laptop. Other features seem to work. Also is it possible to set it to find key words, instead of an exact phra...

For us to be specific, you need to be too. ;) Different codes have some unique tables and settings in them. Because I know you're using a '7427 on a TPI/MPFI configuration, I can help a bit. You need to start by setting the cyl count, CPI/PFI bit correctly, and trans type/trans settings correctly. O...

Bring back an old feature?
I liked the ability to drag XDF items to new locations within the XDF. This made organizing the items easier than it is now. Any way to bring this back? As it is, I have to copy and paste the item into the new location, then delete the original. This is alright, if I can't remember what I just copie...

This has been discussed over the years for Tp RT to be ported over to a portable hand held type device, which many people, including myself would love to have, especially since I also plan to get an iPhone when the 5 comes out. Yes, now you're connected just the way you should be. The AFR not changing doesn't apply to you, that has to do with a WBO2 input IIRC. You can change that gauge by right clicking on it and selecting a value that is applicable to you. But before you run it, there's some hardware checks that need to ...

Plug the USB cable into the ALDL Xtreme, THEN you will see the port for the cable in the device manager. OK XDF from Moates.net needs to be loaded and I need to re-read where you talked about ADS file. Ostrich and data streaming are two different things. No problem, we all were where you are once, and I know how it can be a bit daunting and frustrating at first, especially when you're not sure how to get everything set up. Cool. We'll try to get what you have running first. At the most I see an ECM swap, which is just a re-pin to different connectors to plug in an ECM that would be more matched to what you have. I still find it odd that the supplier would send you a TBI PCM for what you have. It can run MPFI, but it i...

Since you are not using a manual tranny, I wonder why your suppler decided to use that PCM. It's just adding more complications and confusion for a first time tuner. :? Think of the ostrich as an EPROM, it is simply there to hold the bin file. The great thing about the Ostrich, being an EPROM Emulat...

if you are in limp-home mode, and it's starting to sound like it, that would explain most if not all of the problems you're having. assuming you have a computer controlled cooling fan, does it attempt to turn on even at low coolant temps? That PCM is for a mid '90s TBI truck. Are you positive that's the service number? From your description of how the engine is running, it sounds like it is in Limp Home Mode (LHM). When you turn the key on, before starting it, does the CEL come on, flash off once and then stay on until started or doe...
