you can use any 6 cylinder motronic 1.3 XDF and bin file on any 6 cylinder motronic 1.3 ECU. the way i do it rather than reinventing the wheel and making an XDF for the m20b20 or m30b30 or m30b35 is just to use my existing and very well figured out m20b25 173 XDF with a compatible 173 bin file. i th...

the 179 is motronic 1.3 as is the 173 (M20B25). the only real difference between the two ECU's is the chip inside. remove the chip and they are the same apart from the label on the case with the part number. you could use a 173 bin file and XDF which is nore commonly available and there are 173 XDF'...

checksum offset feature
noticed i cannot get tunerpro to calculate the proper checksum for motronic 1.3 as it has an offset which must be factored in and there is no facility to do this in the checksum tab under edit xdf header info.
would be a good addition to the software and shouldnt be too hard to add?

im thinking i already answered this via email for u but you can replace the m1.1 ecu with an m1.3 ecu. straight swap, unplug the 1.1 unit and plug in the 1.3 unit. you cant swap 1.1 and 1.3 chips about though, you can swap 1.1 chips for other 1.1 chips and 1.3 for other 1.3 though. also M30B30 files...

first of all your ECU is 0 261 208 080, the rest of the numbers/digits probably wont be of any importance. you can try searching for a bin file and/or xdf for that ECU number for a start. if all else fails you would need to read the chip via a willem reader/programmer and then find/figure out the ma...
