Not sure how big the logs would get but then you could talk to yourself while driving and be able to remember where the issue occurred.

Thought about this on my last cruise using TP and SP where I couldn't describe the problem by tapping the throttle several times. (usually what I do)

I do like the idea of recording sound, you could listen to the engine while you're playing the datalog back.
