Wondering if TunerPro can help me with something

Post by OldSkoolGP »

Greetings,

I just got done converting my 2006 Pontiac GTO to run on an E38 computer from the old E40 computer, using the same OS and setup they use in Australia on the VZ Holdens with Gen IV LS engines.

Now I want to activate some extra features that the E38 should be capable of but are not enabled in my OS. Mainly I want to get it to look for a real oil temp sensor and not look for a calculated sensor. I see from other E38 pinouts that Pin X2-23 is reserved for either a trans temp sensor or engine oil temp sensor, and on my OS it's set to Unused.

Could I use TunerPro to change the OS to look for a real oil temp sensor and assign the data to a PID that I could scan for?

Specfications: 06-07 E38 (Serv No. 12597121)
OS: 12607218
EFILive refers to the parameter for this sensor as G1221
