"Item Search Tool" limitation in searching descrip

I have setup my definition file to include important information in the description field to make finding certain functions easier. One important addition was adding the name of the tables that a particular Scaling function was used for. This works great when searching for a particular table, the Scaling function that controls each axis in that table will also show up in the search. The problem I have run into are those scaling functions that are used in a very large number of tables. The search tool seems to be limited in that it can only look about 100 characters into the description field - thus words beyond the 100 characters do not show up in a search.
