I am being asked to capture BIN files from a stack of ECUs for comparison in a college project, where 'tuning' is the project goal in a summer school project.

I will have these allowable ECUs in the cars:
0 261 200 153
0 261 200 173
0 261 200 351
0 261 200 380
0 261 200 382
0 261 200 524
0 261 200 525
0 261 200 526

I have a GQ-4X reader, and I believe I am capturing the BIN files correctly (I end up with 32k BIN files). I am yet to confirm if I am doing that step properly yet.

BUT..do I need to locate a separate XDF file for each CPU model? Is there a good SINGLE file I can use to review each student groups work at the end of term?

I have loaded this XDF:
http://www.tunerpro.net/download/bindef ... _sw705.xdf

And the 32k bin file I read from an ECU chip..

And all of my fuel maps cells are "255", so clearly, Ive bunged something up. :)

Thank you all, and I look forward to learning in this community.

Every single cpu has its own xdf file.

So,when you see 255 at cells means that this xdf is for another cpu with different address memories.

But there is a possibility for an xdf to match with 1 or 2 bins only when is for the same car, model etc.

Got it..so that complicates the mission, because there are a # of BMW supplied ECUs, but I cant find XDFs for all of them.

Thanks.
