in 402 xdf rev limiter ,does not work to,i download the orginal software and in rev limiter adres the value is 6965 orginal rev limiter is 6500 rpm, so the adres in xdf is wrong, anybody know where is real rev limiter for 402 xdf?

Gavin :
the rev limiter does not show the real value, but it works fine

make it 6970 for 6800 rpm
make it 6976 for 7200 rpm

if you need more info ask

For 7400 put 6988
for 7600 put 6991

Only reach these limits if you really know what you are doing !!!!

OK thanks, engine is build to reach 8000rpm and more,Now i drive with no rev limiter so it is not really save,i will try it and let you know how it work

the engine is m50b25 non vanos, crank schaft is from 2.5 TD it is cast iron, made to knife edge balanced with 6 Kg m20 flywheel.rods are stock but the pistons are 2.5 vanos, engine is now 2.8 l,i ported and polished the head ports and installed lighter and biger valves, cam schafts are from Dbilas,m3 headers, and big bore throttle. i think it is all

I am modding a new engine for my car now:
m50b25 non vanos
X5 3.0L crankshaft, conrods
Ross pistons
Alpina 296 camshafts
m3 headers + custom exhaust

We have a dyno in the shop so tuning will be easy

did you put yours on the dyno ?
NB: if you need aftermarket parts, or any performance parts for any BMW, Nissan 350Z, VW pm me or checkout www.at-machinery.com .

by the way where are you from ? i am from Lebanon

I was on the dyno last year, i did get 240 Hp and 285 NM of tourqe but the AFR was lean 13.2/14.5,the ECU adaptation changed my AFR on every run.
by the way i'm from Poland

I still have a problem with stable AFR,i installed a "Lambda Emulator" simple device that sends to ECU perfect lambda signal, thanks to this the ECU dont get Error fault, when orginal lambda is swiched off.
Only now after a few days ride AFR on a car is Very rich "Iddle-11.9, normal drive 10.7 WOT -11.9" I did lower all the values in all fuel maps butt after 2 days ride AFR was to rich again. I' running out of ideas.

by aboutton
That is because the ECU is re-adapting the fuel maps.
this will happen after driving the car for about 10KM. try to lower the value a little then wait for the adaptation.
Or someone would suggest new ideas ?

Today i made new chip,i lowered the values in all fuel maps, and there is only efect on iddle,AFR it is now 14.5 the WOT 11.3 and normal drive 10.6/12.5,maybe i will just try to switch off the lambda and try tu tune with ECU fault,if you read this topic you will know for how long i have a problem with my ECU http://forum.tunerpro.net/viewtopic.php?t=2113

Dear Gavin,
I was working on the 402 for my car, moding the xdf for new maps and some improvments, if you need to see actual ignition degrees in all ignition maps just edit the XDF and goto conversion tab and enter this equation ( x * 0.75-22.5 ) it will show the real ignition degrees.

i also extended the maps until 7000 rpm if you are interested pm me and i will send it to you when finish testing.

I did the actual ignition degrees 2 monts ago, the problem is in the fuel maps, thet dont work properly on my engine.

did you try to disable the O sensor before tuning the car ?

Posted: Sun May 01, 2011 2:08 pm
by gavin
not yet i dont have my Eprom burner so i cant tune, i just disable lambda fedback, like "revlimiter" told me, and install the lambda emulator, even with the lambda emulator signal that is always "perfect and static" the ECU makes the fuel changes.

Hey! Probably the right place to ask. So if I change the rev limiter to, lets say 7200, what happens to fuel, ignition, vanos etc maps(mapped only till 6400 :? )? It extends them; ecu somehow learns by itself regarding on sensors; have to map it manually or what? Guess the question applies on all Scalars section.

Do I have to change the checksum too?

ercis

The ECU will read the value at 6500 and apply it for all RPM past 6500.

that means if you have 28 degree of ignition on 6500 and you rev the engine to 7500, you will have 28 degrees from 6500 to 7500.

NB: on all M50 and up engines except M3 you will have valve floating past 7200 on stock head components, so be careful.

Thanks! And to be able to edit that i have to rewrite rpm chart in fuel, ign. etc maps(ex. 6400 to 7200, 6080 to 6900 etc.)?

Hi there!

I have a 413 ecu and I'm triing to change the rev limiter level in tunerpro using the aditional xdf file. No luck jet. Would someone help me with that problem?

Where did you get the bin file from and what xdf are you using ?

by elmo0104
I really don't remember from where did I download the bin file. There is a big chance that I have it from midas. I believe that the XDF file I have from tunerpro site. The bin file name that I'm using says: 325_0261200413_1267357623.bin. Is it possible to make the rev limiter on about 3500rpm level when the car is standing in place ant higher when it moves? I'v read somewhere that some of the bin files(frome different version of the same UCU) have tables of rev limiter in each gear. Can you direct me in right way?

You can use the 506 bin from the `95 m3. It has 6 different rpm limits based on vehicle speed, but I have not got it to work right for launch control. The rev limiter works great thou.

I have done launch control on this chip by using a double size chip and load to bins inside and use 1 for launch and the other for normal driving.
I will prepare a drawing and post it here in couple of days.

Thanks aboutton and evilm3666. evilm3666 what dxf file are you using to manage the 506 bin file also where do you have this bin file from?

aboutton what is the name of this double size chip? Is it a 27sf family?

i too am having this problem, i am using the xdf and bin from the tunerpro site in a red 413, the # in D033 is 65 as per the above question (do i plug in a different # there?), changing the number doesn't do any thing with the revlimit tab in tunerpro so it seems to be a address issue. my project is a little weird in that i am running a m88/3 (big cam high compression euro version of s38b35) on a 413, i have a street tune going and it runs good but the stock m50tu revlimit is annoying

winfred i have sent you a PM

it is a 16bit located at address 0xD030 LSB first
value / 4 = rev limiter

i sent a email but it bounced back. i have never had to play with hex and haven't quite gotten the language structure in my head, i am sure it is easy but i am just missing it without some context

my D030 line reads
DE 87 90 65 50 46 F4 01 00 80 C0 5D 00 00 00 20
is the whole line the rev limiter or just the #3 position of 65? where does the 4 place number go in that line like you said earlier in the thread "make it 6976 for 7200rpm"? does it read from the center out with 65 being the center? if so right to left or left to right? sorry to be a pain in the butt but i am trying to do more then ask fix it for me

in staring at it would 6958 be the limiter?

The 16bit value on 0xd030 is 9065 when you clIck on LSB first it will become 6590 = 26000 in decimal / 4 = 6500 limiter.
Man if you cant apply this pm me your email address and i will send you a correct xdf file for your bin

I my case the rev limiter works only on M3 US bin file (with the M3 ud DXF file). I'm using it in 413 dme with silver sticker. Thank you evilm3666 for files and thanks for abautton for great explanation!!

hey guys,
i had a 325 with a 403 ecu, and i was tuning it perfectly.
i sold that car and bought a new one with vanos head and 413 ecu, i am trying to tune it using the stock bin that i read from the ecu and the xdf found on tunerpro.net, but there are no changes happening on the fuel or even ignition.
i dont know when to use the retard ignition and fuel or when to use the advance one, and the rev limiter is not working too.

i have my moates emulator, i used to watch the address that the ecu is using on my 403 ecu, but now on the 413 even though when emulating and tracing data, i cannot see any colored address on any of the maps.

can anyone help please

can you switch to the 623 chip? I can send you the xdf for that with the o2 sensor disable. or you can send me the bin for your chip and I can see what I can do.

Hi! I want to do hard rev limtier, like here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liXa-auzaYI (not LC).
If i retard ignition it will works?

Posted: Tue Apr 01, 2014 6:27 am

That just looks like the speed based revlimiter that has six break points. The 413 silver and 506 dme have that in the code all you have to do is change a few things. Pm me your email and I can send you the files.

Can i do this in 402/403? You have my email im PM, i asked for LC files for 506.

I am not sure if you can do this with a 402/403. I have never looked at bin file for those. I emailed you the files for the 506 on the 30th.
