Hi there! I have a few questions, hope someone will be so kind and help me :)
I downloaded XDF and bin files for 175 dme. Loaded them and then compared with mine file from 175 dme. Maps look different, checksum differs, map adresses is also different. Maybe XDF is not suitable with mine bin? Are axes names right?

Also can values be negative?

Sorry for my bad english

Not all 175 software is the same. Thats why XDF indicates for what software is made. Why do people keep asking this question over and over?

What is the output of fuel maps (wot, part throttle)? IQ?
Wat is the output of ignition maps (wot, part throttle)? Spark advance?
If yes what are the factors and offsets?

It´s an old thread, but:

I thought, the chip provides the maps the DME reads. So if the DME is the 175, every chip must use the same adresses to let the DME find them...? Or are there different 175??? Can´t imagine that...perhaps for E30 and E36???

And: I only found one 175-File, where did you get the other one?
Could you share the ones you have?

Thx

There is one here in the Download section for E30 M42B18:

"BMW_175_318i_soft378.xdf"

and two for E36:

"BMWdme282Chip626.xdf"
"BMW_990_318i_soft070.xdf"

Where is the difference?
Of course, DME 282/990, but I thought, the engine was the same so is the DME???

me again...

found out there are 4 different softwares (chip-no.) for the M42B18 in the E30:

1267355773
1267356214
1267356346
1267356378

having different Checksums

7233
3EF8
3F00
71A8

this means, the maps are in different places in the .bin, also in software 6.214 amount of fuel for idle is slightly lower.

...but nevertheless it should be possible to mount any of the other 3 tuning chips on a 175 DME, I guess? IF SOMEONE COULD VERIFY THIS...THANKS
Also I found many tuning files for the 325i, but there is a lack of tuning bins for 318is, does anyone have anything or any hints where to find some?

Yes, the map location indicators, that´s it.

I only knew abot the so called descriptors which tell you what kind of map or what kind of axis-values you have here, so one was able to find ignition tables, for example.

There are some descriptors shown somewhere in the www, but I haven´t found out, how map location indicators look like or work...

Does anyone have examples for common descriptors and map location indicators?

Nevertheless thanks, tunesss!

Ay. I am trying to find maps as well. I tried the provided 175 for my e30 and flashed it to my ostrich 2 with no success. I pull the bin off my chip and the xdf doesn't work for it. Is everyone just using winols to find the maps then transferring address' to tunerpro?
