Anyone using the MB300 definitions for KE-Jetronic?

Post by GTIspirit »

I'm new here, attracted to the MB_300E_KEjetronic_ecu256.xdf definition. I have a few questions for those using this definition.

Does anyone have a more complete definition than the above mentioned one posted on the tunerpro.net site? Two things that I can think of which I believe are missing are the overrun/decel fuel cutoff, and the fuel cut rev limiter.
Is it possible to use the Ostrich emulator, or only possible to burn chips? Will the Burn1 or Burn2 even work with this type of PROM?

PROM chip is 16pin used in conjunction with an Intel 8049 type CPU, looks like this:

I appreciate any advice on the definitions file and hardware compatibility. Thanks.[/img]

I made those BM definition for K Jetronics. If you can read that eprom post the bin here and maybe I can cook something for you there. I tried reading that small eprom but could not come up with anything. I don't think that ostrich emulator can emulate that kid of eprom. Being that small there is not much on there.

Cool, I'm more than happy to post the .bins if/when I find a cost effective manner to read them. Looking at the chip in the picture, do you think that either a Burn1 or Burn2 would work? I'm happy to buy one if there is a good chance it would work. Otherwise I need to find something compatible with the Intel 8049 family.

I don't know if it helps or not, but here are two links to KE3-Jetronic ECU schematics. It looks like there might be some helpful information there on the chips, but I don't know what to make of the info.

Does this help at all?

Especially the section on the Instruction Set starting on page 31. I can't find it at the moment, but there was also a section on the memory address locations, where the code was located and where the data was located.

I think this document should be also helpful to the LH-Jetronic systems in addition to the KE3-Jetronic and likely also KE-Motronic, as I've seen references on the internet that lead me to believe they all use these chipsets.

Here was the other helpful looking piece of information on the 8049, MCS-49 family of microcontrollers.

But alas I'm not a software engineer so I don't know how to use this stuff to figure out the binary files to get the tuning maps. :(
