Looking for a $3E Broadcast code?

Post by nhromyak »

I found a 4 Cyl TBI setup being driven by the 7730 computer.

I have been fighting the $8D code with various success and not.

I have been told, because the way the $8D code is setup, I will get (and probably have) inconsistent fueling.

Hence, I am looking for the $3E code for the 7730. Can anyone help?

I have a bin for the 4 CYL TBI on the 7730, just no mask.

Thanks!

I'm not aware of any definitions (of any type, ECU or otherwise) for $3E. Perhaps you could use the S10 mask and a '165 ($32, $53 or $94 mask)?

Thanks for the reply.

Can th 165 drive 4 injectors and is it a TBI computer?
I am still trying to learn.

I have found the 7730 code in $8D to be fairly straightforward after a LOT of reading. So now I know where to go, to correct issues. Additionally, I am setup well for the P4 chip, and would hate to invest in a another setup. But, if this WORKS, then I am for it.

Also, I like the 8192 baud connection, datalogging, and what I presume is the speed of the computer. This allows the computer to make quicker adjustments to the fuel and timing in closed loop correct.

So far, I have been told I should get the 7747 computer (a little slower) and create driver board to drive the four injectors. I don't know where to get a driver board.

Ideally, I am looking for the best of all worlds solution.

Thanks!

165 is a TPI computer like the 7730. 8192 baud, P4. Well documented hacks are available, and good editing definitions are available.

REALLY???

So there are hacks and known ways for this to drive 4 TBI injectors? WithOUT P&H output?

In other words, there are people running the 165 in a TBI application?

The issue that was presented to me regarding the 7730 is because the 7730 fires on two revolutions on the injector driver. Therefore, I get inconsistent fueling.

So my question is, this is not the case with the 165?

That would be SO kewl!

Thanks.

I'm not personally aware of anyone running TBI with a 165. The 7730 and 7165 would probably run similarly, so it might not be what you're looking for.

I had thought that there were 8192 TBI ECMs out there. Is that not the case?

That's what I was hoping for.

If not, I will look at a 7747 because it is TBI based. I guess I need to make (or buy) the injector drivers for it. :(

Apparently, the 165 is also MAF based, correct? I want to stay with the cheaper speed density.

Thanks again!
