Newbie wanting help with 1227747 (just info really)

Post by speedfrk »

I have a 1990 truck with 350 tbi. It has the 1227747 with ASDU K setup for the L05 engine. I picked up a chip for $20 for a 1992 350 tbi w/ 5 spd manual since these two setups both use the 1227747 C3 and the L05. I was hoping the chip would just swap in since it looked like it should go. Instead, when I put the chip in, it blinked like it was in limp-home mode. I've done lotsa research and reading on places like diy-efi and read some tuning guides. Anyone have any ideas? Otherwise, I'm going to take the table data from the newer chip and try bringing it into the working one.

Thanks.

They're likely operating on different code masks (even though the ECM and engine config is the same).

You're talking about the memcal, right? That's the smaller chip on the 1227747??? Would transplanting the memcal work or am I better off just importing what I like out of my performance chip into my existing stock bin?

No, not the memcal, the chip itself. You may want to make your way over to TGO and ask there. www.thirdgen.org/techbb2
