After updating to latest version,initalize must be done with no chip in AP, even so most attempts to verify return failure/connectivity problems, no relief till AP disconnect,initialize, reconnect,(no chip) initialize, load bin,program (3x),verify (maybe). Using XP before update, no biggies, replaced usb cable, no change. Thanks , Val ---- All is now well, no idea what may have changed or where the problem was, sorry to bother.

This is mentioned in the AutoProm docs. The AutoProm will not work with the chip in the ZIF. Always emulate without a chip in the AutoProm.
