New Version 98 non-Connect

Post by JP86SS »

Hi Mark, Some testing results to ponder
Just downloaded the new version 05.0538 and also tried the 05.0488 I think it was. Both of these versions are instantly causing Invalid page fault upon connection. If it doesn't connect due to comm issues etc, it will still live. As soon as "Command/Reply success" the fault kills SP.

From the fault box:
SCANNERPRO caused an invalid page fault in
module SCANNERPRO.EXE at 0177:00422de6.

The 05.0349 version connects fine when re-installed but is the slow version that everyone else was having problems with.
This is running Win98 SE with serial cable (not USB), 730 $8D Setup.
I have not been able to make a connection at all with the USB and APU1.

I didn't see anything and wondered if there was anything needed to be done with definitions to make them compatible with the newest versions?
Thanks,
John

Can you email me the definition you're using? Also, any chance you can try this on XP and see if it works? I'm curious to know if it crashes on one but not the other.

It'll probably be an obvious issue/fix. I'll look into it.

Sent the file.
I don't have another operating system to try though
8) Hopefully there is something easy to spot.

The 541 version is working.
Could have been my histograms with missing item definitions too.
Don't know how I lost them but all is looking good now.
Thanks,
Jp
