Patch Indeterminate Issue

Post by bubba2533 »

Hi,

I'm creating patches and I see that when the patch does not match either the base data or the patch data it gives this error. That all makes sense, but why does it still allow you to patch?

I see this as a bug, but I'm not sure if that was intended as a feature. If this is working intended could you please move this to feature requests and possibly add a flag for patches that can disable the ability to patch if neither data matches.

Thanks,
Branden

Not a bug. Perhaps you still want to patch the bin in the indeterminate condition. Thanks for the suggestion. Do you actually have a case that you could describe where this would be necessary?

I only want the user to be able to apply patches that match, so it removes the possibility for user error.
