Hi guys i am new to the site.
I have a MEFI4a and was wondering if anyone has the Data stream definition.
I am trying to install more sensors, i have the ECU pinout but need the definition to locate the packet offset ....
In scanner pro some of them don't exist.
Unless there is a way of finding out the data stream from the current bin.
Any help is appreciated
Eli

You can purchase scanning software for the MEFI controller here:

I already have that, i am just trying to add sensors and want to know what is the packet offset for theses extra sensors
i have the pinout for the MEFI4a and J1-18 is oil level
what would the packet offset be for that sensor ?
Thanks

Re: Data stream definition ADS file for the MEFI controler
According to the ADX file 0x2C is the packet offset for the TPS sensor.
Is the J1-18 pin an input or output? According to the connector diagram I have the J1 connector is an output connector.
The J2 connector is listed as the output connector, but J2-20 is shown as Oil Pressure Input so I am not sure how accurate this connector diagram is.
Are you trying to wire an oil level sensor into the MEFI controller?
Here is the way I added a wide band O2 sensor so that I could read the AFR from Scanner Pro.
If your oil level sensor has a 0-5 volt output you could use this method.

Hope this helps.

Thinking about it, this oil level sensor might be analog.
Meaning its just on or off and not 0-5V.
Thanks for sending the link, i have already seen the thread. My issue is that I already have an oil pressure sensor and was trying to use another port.
I guess it will be easier to just temporary rely on the analog gauge and plug in the wideband for logging.

Guess you need to check the output from your oil level sender.
If it is just an ON/OFF switch you could wire it with a +5v from J2-2 and then configure one of the unused pins (like J2-4 - Fuel Pressure) to act like a switch showing OK with +5 and LOW with 0v.

Re: Data stream definition ADS file for the MEFI controler
Yes i will be logging a Wideband.
Engine was on the Dyno and i just put it back in the engine.
I had to remove some spark advance and now i want to make sure AFR is optimal

I think you will find the stock tune to be very, very rich.

Which version of TunerPro are you using?
