By design. 0 is an invalid address step, so when entered, it goes back to the default.

Should it not behave the same as stride where 0 means to increment by cell size?

Can you explain the scenario where a 0 address step is required? I'm willing to change this behavior, if you have a scenario that can be implemented no other way.
