ALDL mode 1 to mode 9 every second or two

Post by EngineerBill »

Bought my moates ALCU1 and CABL1 with A095 data def for '93 Seville 4.9L and new laptop. Connected everything up and they all talked together.

However, about every 1 to 2 seconds the data values shifts dramatically and then back to normal. It lines up with ALDL mode switching to mode 9 momentarily (according to the readings) and back again. I drove it and recorded a log file. When I look at the graphs of various data elements (all of the live ones) you can see a glitch (spike) either going up or going down depending on the data item.

Has anyone run across this before?

I can post a photo of the graphing if that would make more sense.

you (or someone) may need to add mode 8 commands to the definition.

are you using TPV4 or V5?

Thanks. I received it in the email you sent. I should be able to try it when I finish work tonight. I create a log file when I run it. I have the old log file and will retain that as well.

Thanks, Robert.

Ah, sorry, still haven't been able to try the new A095. My brakes went out so I am doing the big brake upgrade. Car is up on blocks. My dryer just went out and must replace the motor. Back on the car this weekend and hopefully by next week see if the switching ALDL modes is gone. Can't wait. I'll post as soon as I test.

I posted the file here for you:

I finished my brake upgrade (finally). I am going to try to get some time 5/26/12 to try out the version 3 file and see if the problem goes away.
