it's not something you find, so much as you create.
luckily, i've created one for it already, but so has someone else.

go there, and download the ALDL definition for $0D, that applies to your truck. it's the ECM half only, but i'll have to send my version, which has ECM and TCM portions to mark for full access.

"hardware not found" is normal for an ALDL cable, the only time you should see something there is if you have burning or emulation hardware attached.
since you're using TP V4(i think, anyways), pressing F4 should bring up the ALDL setup menu, if you have the 0D ADS loaded there and can't get the ECM to connect, you may need to have an ADS with a mode 8 command, in which case i'll have to email mine to you since it usually takes mark a while before he uploads new versions to save time and upload them in bulk.

well, then we'll take tunerpro out of the equation...
i believe TTS Datamaster has the ability to play with the $0D mask for logging? i would try that and see if it will connect.
otherwise, you might need to get ahold of a terminal program(like hyperterminal) to see if you can get any raw data flowing... i can't remember if scannerpro allowed you to see raw data or not, but that may also be an option.

well, that means the hardware is at least capable of communicating...
i'm not sure what "flow control" options are supposed to work though...
i'm actually looking at the index now, it seems there were a few different PCMs used for the L35 (4.3CPI) in the S/T trucks.... one of them runs on the 0D mask, and the other is supposedly fully OBD2 compliant, though the datastream of that PCM isn't defined in these documents....

according to the factory manual, this is what you should have.

i also read up on the differences between the computers.... the OBD2 computer is refered to as the VCM, and is mounted underhood by the right-hand fender. the OBD1 PCM are located in-cabin under the right-side of the dash.
