Get the ALDL cable, it will definatly cut down on the tuning time needed, especially when using the data tracing feature to know exactly what parts of the maps are being used. What sorts of problems were you having with the signal booster? Where were the switches set on both the Ostrich and the Sock...

That's the page I used when I tried to burn the chip. I might try one more time. Have you ever needed the booster with a chip? I haven't needed a booster with an EPROM, but I did find it seemed to work more consistantly with the booster. I EFI'd my boss' '62 Suburban, using a '7747, and sometimes, ...

Yep. :) http://support.moates.net/2010/04/05/programming-chips-using-offsets/ You WILL need the Socket Booster 1.0 in order to use your Ostrich to tune the '7747. I have tried to tune without it, and only got very intermittant connection. Socket Booster 1.0 makes a solid connection. You do need the ...

To use the Ostrich 2.0 with a '7747 ECM, or other Delco ECMs that use the 2732 PROM, you need the Socket Booster 1.0. Did you solder a socket to the daughter board? I usually solder a socket to the daughter board, so that I can switch between the EPROM adaptor and the socket booster/Ostrich. I don't...

Tuning the '7747 ECM is one of my least favorite things to do, mostly because of the SLOW datalogging baud rate. 160 baud vs the newer ECM's 8192 baud. The fuel tables are sorta split on these ECMs, GM also did the same on other ECMs as well. Probably has to do more with how the vehciles are used th...

You won't get any data displayed or even a connection until you open and ADS (V4) or ADX (V5). The ADS or ADX is what Tuper Pro RT uses to communicate with the ECM trhough the ALDL and know which byte means which value to be displayed. I would remove that Hypertech chip, and use the emulation capabi...

Currently I use V4 or any 160 baud work, like my boss' '62 Suburban, and at one time a friends '67 Chev C10, but that one has been changed to a later ECM with 8192 baud logging, I think I also had to use V4 for my friends T-Type Regal. I haven't had time to sit on my test bench long enough with a 16...

You should be able to download a proper ADS at moates.net, in the file manager. The ADS deciphers the datastream. You can use the ADS, watching values, without a bin or XDF loaded. If you're not planning to use TP RT to tune, you may want to look at using WinALDL, since I believe it supports your ca...

It would help if you also listed the ECM service number.
Look at $59, it requires the use of a '7749/'7730/'7727 and similar ECMs.

This sounds like more of an open vs closed loop question than $A1 specific. FWIW, I run my Datsun ($59) in open loop, and have done so for most of the time it's been EFI. I have used closed loop for a bit just to see how well the WBO2 controls closed loop, but went back to open loop, because it seem...

XDF and ADX modified error, upload fail.
I have been getting XDF and ADX modified warnings popping up upon closing TP RT, even though I haven't modified either item. ADX modified warning comes up more often. This has happened with the last few builds. I haven't been able to pinpoint any pattern to why this would be just yet, but I'm trying...

Show compare data.
It seems that showing compare data in table at least (I haven't checked anything else yet), does not work for the last few builds, I just noticed this today.
Copy from compare still works, even though you can't see the values before hand.

The entire bin is stored on the EPROM. You have to realize that the bin will be at the end of the EPROM. Say you have a 27C512 EPROM, and you have a 32K bin, the bin itself will actually start at address 8000. This is normal. There is a way to read just the part you want, but it's been so long I do...

Re: I think I'm starting to get the hang of it, maybe
If I understand correctly from reading posts, you cannot create a xdf from a bin. so my question is will intended xdf files posted work with all bins already in use or are they propietory to the software being used? I have a chip already installed and I am questioning rather or not the bin and the ...
