All I was saying is to take the stock tune and compare it to your custom tune. That way you can find out what parameters they changed from stock. Your custom tune might be a good starting point if the person who tuned it knew what they were doing... the only difference from stock that the "cust...

Wouldn't you want to compare it against a stock bin to see what was changed? Do you know if its a vett or f-body tune?

check that your laptop does not have any kind of motion sensing protection built in. For example I have an IBM thinkpad that I use for logging. It has a feature called "Active Protection". There must be some kind of motion sensor in it and whenever it senses that there is too much movement...

The auto save wouldn't necessarily have to modify the the current XDF. Just save it a temp file somewhere that could be recovered in case of a crash.

Why? If it was an option you could turn on and off what would be the problem? It would have saved me 2 hours worth of work creating an XDF.

Does TP use a temp file when editing XDF's?

I was adding a ton of scalars and tables to an XDF when my PC locked up hard. I was doing something else at the time so the lockup was not related to TP. Does it by any chance write the changes to a temp file or is there any other way to recover what I was working on?

Go into the Com port settings in device manager and try turning the latency down to 1 (by default I think its on 16). See if it gets better.

What amazes me is that this:
"X*0.0152587890625"

Came "off the top of my head"...lol thats a lot of decimal places to remember.

Thanks. I will try that on my way home. No wonder that handy instant mpg equation you gave me in the other post was giving me such low numbers.

$DA3

Robert,
A while ago you sent me an ADX for $DA3. When you get a chance can you eyeball it and let me know if the equation that calculates the value for Left and Right BPW is correct?
I have looked around for a hack document for this datastream but so far I have come up empty.

Another small update to this. I found some settings in device manager for the drivers for this USB converter. Under advanced there is a setting for latency. By default it was set at 16. I changed it to 1 and was able to completly remove the wait for silence pause in my monitor macro. Sampling freque...

The sample rate is bouncing around between about 8.3 and 10. Is it supposed to do that or remain steady? It did that with my previous serial cable too. The stream is nice and clean. With this cable I was able to reduce the wait for silence in my monitor command down to 7ms. Any lower and there are a...

Instant MPG calculation

I found an old post at TGO with instructions and a formula for calculating instant MPG: For the MPG conversaion equation, use: X/(C*0.0000212*Y*Z) Where: X = Vehicle Speed Y = Engine Speed Z = Base Pulse Width C = Injector constant (lbs/hr) Now on my setup I am not sure about the base pulse width pa...

TP pauses while recording log

I am having an issue when recording logs with TP. I can connect and monitor the stream just fine and drive around with no problems. As soon as I hit the record button I will get occasional pauses in the datastream (no errors indicated). I see this in the log playback too. What I noticed is that thes...

'93 LT1 injector replacement

I have a '93 LT1 that was swapped into my jeep. It has the stock injectors in it. One of them in the right bank is leaky so I want to replace all of them. I happen to have a set of ford injectors with the following specs: Part Number lbs/hr cc/min grams /min PSI XR3E-C5B 25.9 272.2 195.8 43.5 The on...
