Re: Weird issues with ECU(?)
It sounds like you have electrical problem with the ECU and/or the QuarterHorse. Check the connections thoroughly. It may be worth opening up the ECU and checking for leaking capacitors (this can affect earlier ECU's but CDAN4 is getting old too now).

Re: New to tuning- need BIN for 5.7l TBI
You do not need the binary file if you are only going to be datalogging. You can find an .adx for your ECU here: http://www.tunerpro.net/downloadBinDefs.htm I do not know why there are three choices, if soneone more knowledgeable does not respond then try each one to see which works. Re: Ford EEC-V questions
'Bin' is an abbreviation for binary and usually refers to a binary file. The eec-v banks 0, 1 , 8 and 9 are numbered that way because of how Ford only use the BS0 and BS3 'bank select' lines of the microprocessor. How different software arranges the bank order is pretty much down to the authors pref...

Notepad will try to display any file you open with it as ASCII text. It pretty much has no use for anything other than a text file. If your programmer can save files as .hex or .bin why are you trying to change the file format? If the binary file opens OK in TunerPro then that's all you need as far ...

If you can datalog with Binary Editor satisfactorily then that suggests there is nothing wrong with the hardware (PC, ECU or QH). You need to concentrate your investigations on the TunerPro configuration and/or the definition you are using.

Those 'bubbles' are the parameter comments. If there are no comments then nothing will be displayed.
