the fact that it's setting code 45 even with a new sensor is odd. I have a pretty good idea of why though. the way the MPFI 60V6 masks calculate idle fueling takes MAP, baro, TPS and IAC into account to make a pseudo alpha-n or MAF value. if any of those values are less than optimal, you get strange...

increase the value for a richer mixture. be aware that fairly small changes here can produce significant results. I believe the resolution is 4mV, I would recommend changing those values in no more than 8mV steps between testings. also be aware that there may be scalars used specifically for idle th...

changing the stoichiometric AFR value will change the fueling amount, but when the O2 sensor comes online, the fuel will be trimmed back to whatever value is determined to be relevant by the O2 sensor rich/lean/mean tables. shifting those values around will change the actual AFR while the ECM is in ...

there may have been more/better definitions released since 2014, but I'm not nearly as up to date on EE than some people on gearhead-efi.

A221 is accurate if you have a Series I 3800(95 had both series I and series II engines in the H-cars). the BMYU MEMCALs should be for series I engines though. I uploaded this a couple months ago, I don't think I received any feedback about it though. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ywfpagorua8qpwb/A221.a...

i'm not seeing codes 98 or 99 as being valid for your application... digging a little deeper, your truck should be using A217 or A218, depending on which streams you want access to, codes 98 and 99 don't exist in the stream either. I think you've grabbed the wrong ADX. here is a combo of A217 and A2...

okay, somehow I remembered to actually check this thread, I have some info: A097 appears to be the correct stream for a 90 2.5 a-body, the 7748 appears to put out a continuous 160 baud datastream whether anything is connected to the ALDL line or not. it can be put into an 8192 baud mode, but the doc...

the 91 could have a 1227747, 1228062 or 16144288 ECM. ADS/ADX file needed will depend on which ECM is being used. should be hidden under the dash on the passenger side, not sure if it will be in the kick panel or just tucked under/behind the glovebox, been a while since I've been in a squarebody S10...

A138 A150 those are two definitons that apply to your truck, 138 is more or less the engine half of the PCM and 150 is the transmission half. you'll find both ADS files here, which you can convert to ADX pretty easily, just have to perform a slight change to the reply settings for the given datastre...

all of the calibration changes can be done by tunerpro with the P66 V6 XDF, though you'll have to choose between a couple software packages to use to upload the calibration to the PCM. madtuner or tunercat both had had packages out for a while and recently steveo on gearhead-efi.com has been releasi...

with that ECM/code, you'll have a road speed constant and an instrument panel pulse divisor. the road speed constant is how to correct the speed the ECM is seeing, the pulse divisor is to correct the 4000 pulse/mile speed signal the ECM generates for the instrument cluster. be aware that you only ha...

your truck is actually more OBD2 than 1... the data link connector carries a VPW(class 2) datastream, might be able to give a UART stream, the VCM is OBD2(or OBD2ish, at least). starting in 93, certain 4.3 S/T trucks got some variant of it. the more common one is the 16184738, which seems to have be...

for your application: 2 is one of the serial data wires, looks like class 2 VPW. pin 9 is also a serial data wire, the normal UART setup as used in most 86+ OBD1 cars. 13 is a circuit that runs to the transfer case. 16 is a 12V feed. for an OBD1 application(that just has an OBD2 connector, as some 9...

if it is the OBD2 unit, you'll need a cable capable of reading the VPW stream it likely pushes out.... I ASSUME it uses a standard OBD2 PID request system the way the full OBD2 implementations do, if so, I would think any basic cable would work. a lot of software options, including the OBD2 plugin f...

the EGR is tested by the ECM while coming down from speed with little to no throttle. it monitors the MAP sensor, opens the small solenoid and watches for a change in the MAP signal. if the signal change is large enough, it considers that solenoid good and moves on to the next. after testing all 3, ...

your MAP sensor needs sorted out before anything else. that and the crank sensor are easily the two most critical sensors on the engine. for the moment, I would block off the EGR port to eliminate the possibility of a vacuum leak or an EGR valve stuck partially open and causing recirculation at all ...

most likely either A1 or 88, I don't know what Ryan works with for 7730/60V6/fiero applications. if you have a copy of your calibration, you could figure it out without too much trouble. alternatively, you could download and try an 88 and an A1 ADX. I've worked extensively on both of them. i don't t...
