Illeagal error message when trying to save bin.

Post by Beast5spdGTA »

Windows 98 2nd ed.
Newest version, tried downloading again and worked for awhile, now error while saving on brand new download.

Windows gives me a illeagal operation and then closes program whenever saving a bin or save as, doesn't do it with saving an ECU.

Also editing the bin and clicking save on the small window, the position of the slide thing is saved but the number gets refered to the original.

Playing with a 730-749 swap.

can you give me the details that windows gives you after the illegal operation? what bin? is it the appropriate size?

what ECU? does the ECU reference items outside the memory range of the bin?

worst case, send me both the bin and ECU file.

have you tried this in XP?

I'll try sending you an e-mail with those files. You should have mail from me on your hotmail account. Otherwise I need instructions on how to post files on here.

I think it may have something to do with the ecu file, since once I modify a chip and it actually saves something, I couldn't get the chips(bin files) to work when put in my car.
