Crash when multitasking
Running Windows98 1st editon on Tunerpro 3.05. Seems when I start to edit a bin by manually typing in the desired value as opposed to + or - and then multitask, either by sending Tunerpro to the taskbar or just bringing another window on top, I get a general protection fault when bringing Tunerpro back up.
does this happen all the time to you? i'd imagine if this were a regular issue for everyone on win98, it would have been reported before. i can't reproduce this.
can you give me exact repro instructions? maybe even email me a bin and ECU to try with?

I've been goofing around with win98 and can't reproduce this problem (nor can i think of anything that could cause it).
Again, *solid* step by step repro would be good.
Also, can you get me the crash info (that pops up in the dialog box) when it crashes?

To simplify:
Open tunerpro, auto loaded bin/ecu
Open on ANY flag, constant, or table, not using item summary window
Close the window by either clicking save or cancel
Multitask to a previously opened window/program
Bring tunerpro back up*crash*

i'll look into the crash info you gave me, but i can almost guarantee you that this is an issue with your OS install. This would be rampant if it wasn't (and I haven't been able to repro in any OS I've tried - Win98, Win98SE, WinXP)

This sounds very much like the bug I was reporting in a different thread. The general protection fault occurred in USER.EXE. I never tied it to switching between tasks though.
I can't try to help on this anymore I "upgraded" to Windows 2000 (for other compatiblity reasons) and TunerPro RT has been quite stable.

many issues look the same, but they arent. Dave's problem was completely unrelated (and has been fixed in the upcoming 3.06 release).
I'm almost certain the problem in this thread is related to something out of whack with the OS installation (Win9X was notorious for this kind of stuff).

Also, if it happens again, make sure you're using the latest video driver for your video card.
FYI - this crash is happening outside of TunerPro (its crashing in user.exe). This further solidifies that the issue is likely in your OS installation (or a driver issue, most likely your video card).

I have the most up-to-date vid drivers, they are dated 4/15/1999 so they aren't exactly new. I have found that if I leave an edit window open it won't crash, so I open up prom id and leave it open until I'm done with my editing. I'm not wiping the drive at this time, this being the only thing effected. I do have a 'test rig' that I use for testing parts before I sell them or whatever, I will throw TunerPro on there and see if it crashes. Here is the crash info running 3.06.
