Need to create ALDL

Am I correct in my understanding that I need an ALDL file to enable datalogging? I am tunning a Nissan 300ZX (Z32). I have a cable that allows me to view and log vehicle parameters with a variety of software but I would like to use Tuner Pro to log and edit through my Ostrich.

Can someone point me to a description of how to create an ALDL file?

Yes, you do, but TunerPro doesn't directly support the Consult interface. ScannerPro does, but you'll still need to create the ADX, which isn't recommended for the uninitiated.
