Getting Started

Hi, First off i am new at this. I am having trouble connecting to my ALDL with my laptop..when i try to connect it says that could not initialize port..I go to change the port and there are only com ports listed...i am connected to the ADL connector by USB but there is no serial port on my laptop and no USB option in the list....Please help me get under way....

If you have a USB ALDL interface, then you must install a driver that came with your device. It installs a virtual com port. Go into the device manager and determine what COM port the driver installs as the virtual com port, and use that as the com port in preferences.
