Adx file for ecm 16128261 on 1992 chevy

Post by Hohnsz71 »

Howdy. The adx file seems to not exist for my ecu, but my ecu is really common and it's not on the downloads page. Does anybody know of any other sites to check or know what adx file is for my ecu?

Listing your PROM code and engine size may help someone identify your ecu.

Is the prom number next to 16128261 on the ecm? If it is, it is 1089. It is a 1992 chevy k1500 z71 5.7 350 Tbi.[/img]

The PROM code usually has four letters too.

Are you sure the part number is 16128261? I ask because it's coming up as an ESC module in search results rather than an ecu.

Im confused now. Is the ecu in the distributor,on top of the motor, or behind the glove compartment on a tbi chevy truck.

The ECU is behind the glove box. It controls the engine, mainly fuel. The thing in your dist. is the ICM, Ignition Control Module. That only controls spark. IDK in a 1992 how much ignition is controlled by the ECU. Probably at least the ESC... The PROM code looks like: BATY or BATZ something like that.

IDK I'm just a noob anyway. Just thought I'd try to help. IF you're even still interested....You're long gone, aren't you?
