Using ScannerPro ADX file with TunerPro RT

Post by cbernhardt »

I have an ADX file that works correctly in the old ScannerPro version 5.0574. I would like to be able to use it with TunerPro RT ver.5.0. I downloaded RT, installed it, and loaded the old ScannerPro ADX file. The dash board looks correct, and the Header data looks the same, but I have some questions about the Commands.

In the old file there are 7 commands that are defined:
1. Mode 1 Message 0 ALDL Request
2. Clear All Trouble Codes
3. Mode 1 Message 2 ALDL Request
4. Mode 1 Message 4 ALDL Request
5. Mode 8 Stop Chatter
6. Mode 7 Command Message Normal Mode
7. Mode 9 Start chatter

In the RT header data the Connection command, the Monitor command and the Disconnect command are the same as the old file.

In the RT definition file there are the same 7 commands as are in the old file plus 14 others which are not defined. These 14 additional commands are Reply and Macro commands. The 7 commands that were imported from the older file have the same byte string as the commands in the old file. If I just want to use RT for scanning do I need definitions for these 14 other commands?

Assuming I have the communications parameters set correctly, should this imported definition work correctly under RT?
