Unable to download/save definition files so they work

Post by sideways danny »

using windows 7, if i right click on the link it doesn't give me a save option. If i left click and go through to the file, the save the text to notpad and save as a .xdf (as previously worked using xp and vista) the .xdf is not recognised by v5

I've downloaded many times and it's worked fine, so I don't know what has changed. Even the CA18DET definition I've had for ages no longer works, and I used that to live tune my car in the past

Windows 7 you have to right click and "Save Target As" then when windows pops up to prompt the save change HTML file to all files and save.

If you have an old TPV4 xdf it should open in TPV5 then save as different name. Don't know if this next step is necessary but I then close TP open TP and reload xdf.

XDF and ADS now ADX file formats changed and can be edited in notepad. If you need to open an old ads file need to Acquisition, import ads. It will prompt you to save and you now have the original ads and the same name ADX file.

Hmmm? I have a lot more options than what your showing? Maybe try the Save Link as, same way as I described above?

Or maybe get IE updates? Or change IE settings?

For now if you PM me your email and file you want I'll send it to you!
