1994 4l80e standalone $1A xdf and adx ?

Post by RickT »

I have had no luck finding anything about this bin. It looks like a 16k bin. It is BJDK and I posted the bin at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7235253/BJDK.bin for anyone that wants to look at it.

I have been digging up any information I can about this thing. Here is everything I know about it so far. It is a 1994 G30 van with a 6.5L non turbo diesel. It has a 4l80e Transmission and 4.11 rear end ratio.
BCC BJDK
year 1994
release date 34151
eprom 16197347
ecm 16196390
prom id 7354
scan id 7349
platform C2
engine L57
disp 6.5
trans MT1
type AUTO

Anyone got any kind of xdf or adx file for it? Or does anyone have any idea where to start with trying to figure this thing out?

After digging around it looks like this is a mechanical injection system and it is a stand alone transmission controller for the 4l80E. The engine uses the mechanical DB2 pump on the non turbo engines in 94.

It is a datastream A268.DS so I guess that is a start at least. I haven't figured out how to tell what adx file goes along with what definition but I am getting there :)

I have been slowly figuring out how to make an adx file from the ds file. It is slow and I am not sure it is actually right but I will test it out this weekend. Here it is if anyone wants to look at it

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7235253/%241A.adx

I will be adding more to it over time and getting everything in there.

I still have no idea where to even start on the xdf file. I tried running through the disassembler but there were no real useful intros on how to get started to figure it out. I have seen people talking about having the $D3 mask for the 92-93 trucks but have not been able to find it so does anyone have the $d3.xdf file? Also could I just use the $d3 xdf and bin file if I can find them? D3 might give me an easier starting point hopefully.

The adx file I posted previously is more or less complete now. I have all the error codes and values reading properly. I will make it look nicer over the next few days hopefully. But it is complete and working so anyone needing the $1A adx file grab it and have fun.

I guess now I need to work on the xdf file. I really don't have much time to mess with it so it might take me a while to figure anything out with it. I did find the list of items in the $D3 file so this one should be similar even though I can't find the $D3 xdf anywhere either.

Code: Select all

I sent them a bin that I pulled out of a diesel trans contoller's prom and they had it broken down in like 4 hours.

If anyone is willing to work on building the xdf file I am willing to pay for your time. So anyone who gets a working 1A.xdf file I will pay $100 for it :)

what do you need still? let me know. I have a calibration file for this TCM. 1994 through 2002 GM 4L80-E stand alone. If you have a 1991-1993 TCM I cannot help you.

WOW! You did a great job on an adx from ALDL!

I was skimming through it and only found one issue, unique code number 95 is used in 2 places code 24 and code 22 so it would not let me look further till I changed it.

Good work! Nice job!

6.5 N/A TCM

Post by zetan »

Hi, I have the same vehicle as you - 1995 Chevy 6.5 Diesel 4L80E.
I swapped out my 6.5 N/A for a 6.5 turbodiesel (but still MFI)
I would like to examine the ALDL stream and potentially adjust the shift points now that I've added a turbo.

TCM 16196390
BJDK 1619 7347 chip

I have a ALDL 2 USB cable hooked to my WinXP laptop.
I was able to load your ADX file, but it appears I still need a XDF file before I can proceed.

Did anyone solve this yet?
Thanks

My bad - all you need is the ADX file Rick provided and TunerPro RT.
I'm getting good readings! THANK YOU!
