Definition for KE-Motronic?

Post by GTIspirit »

Hi, my second post here after posting to the "Other definition" forum.

Does anyone have a definition for "KE-Motronic?" aka CIS-Motronic or KE3-Jetronic. Chips are available, http://www.autotech.com/prod_engine_qchip.htm#kemo, I don't want to take business away from Autotech, but I do want to make a custom chip.

And does anyone know if the Ostrich or Burn2 would work in this application?

Thanks for your help.

KE motronic is simple, you can figure it out but I doubt that there is a XDF out there for it now. Burn2 will work, Ostrich will emulate any type of 8bit eprom up to 27c512

Can the Ostrich emulate a Signetics 82S129 bi-polar tri-state PROM? Something with these specs?

no, smallest chip that ostrich emulator can emulate is 27c32, minimum legs 24. How will you plug it in? Did you even look at the photos of ostrich emulator? With questions that you are asking seems to me you have been living under the rock for long time.

Well, I think that anyone who thinks about tuning KE-Motronic has been living under the rock for a long time.....

There are adapters for PROM chips..... I had in mind something like this when I asked if the Ostrich would work.

And no, I didn't really find a lot of good info online on the Ostrich, this page doesn't really answer my questions.

The answer is yes, it can, with an adapter like this:

I just got a KE-Jetronic ECU, which uses an 82S129 bi-polar TTL PROM, running on a 28C16 EEPROM as well as an Ostrich 2.0. While it took a bit of research and understanding how it all works, it can be done.

KE-Jetronic sucks. Air meter system is very restrictive, the whole system is not reliable anymore. Cheaper and more cost effective to convert to full electronic FI
