Creating datalogs v.tutorial

Post by Six_Shooter »

There seems to be some confusion over datalogging with Tuner Pro RT, so here is a simple tutorial on creating an ADL file and datalogging.

Start by opening Tuner Pro RT:

Image

Next open the ALDL set up box by clicking on the set up box in the tool bar:

You will need to "install" an ADS file, this deciphers the datastream, and allows Tuner Pro RT to ddisplay the correct values in the dash, item lists, etc.

Click on "browse" beside the "Definition File" box:

Image

Then browse to where you have the ADS file stored, clicking on it and then "open"

Next, click on the "Select Log File For Rec/Play..." box

Image

Browse to a folder in which you would like to save the datalog, and enter a name to create a new file.

Image

This will then make a pop up window asking if you want to create this new file, click "Yes":

Next click on the "Connect/Disconnect ALDL cable" box:

This will make the ALDL status box go from this:

To this:

Now click on the record button:

The ALDL status box will then show:

When you are done datalogging, click the "stop" button:

You will then have a dialog box pop up, to enter any information that you feel you need to:

You have just datalogged information from your cars ECM.

In the ALDL set-up box, there is a button that when pressed converts the current log selected to a .csv.

Just to add a note,
After creating the initial file for logging...
Each time you log data a "session" will be added to the file.
The session box will drop down and allow you to replay/convert to CSV any selected session you want.

You don't need to create another log file each time you log data, unless you want to.
