PROM ID again

Post by n01tk »

Still looking for a way to get a concrete means of determining my MASK ( running the 31.xdf but seems to be a bit clunky, may not be proper .xdf). ( hate to be beating a dead horse) Here are some images which may help someone determine a way ( or an idea) to get me closer to seeing what the truck ECU software is. This is a heavy duty truck( 1 Ton) which was ordered by the State of Pennsylvania (General Works).
The bin may be different ? I am going to order more equipment ( HEX Editor etc. ) once I have the confidence I can use it. Please have a look and tell me what you think. Sorry for so many images but running out of ideas. The second image shows the EPROM window. There is a S131, does this in anyway relate to the 31.xdf bin? :|

You wouldn't use PROM ID, that is just a preprogrammed number that is spit out by the ALDL to identify the prom by datastream only.

There should be a MASK ID item in the XDF.

Also there is a hex editor built into TPV5!

I think your using the wrong adx file. Look on the link below and scroll down to $0E, it lists heavy duty trucks vans. See what you information looks like with it.

Thanks guys for weighing in. Yeh your right Six Shooter, you have made that reconmendation and I have tried it previously and didn't recognize any change. After saying that I will definitely try $0E mask once again. (this morning) I am still grappling with the information that I am seeing. Thanks again guys!
