I am having issues with my Autoprom and tuner pro. I am running a GM 7747 computer. When I make changes to the autoprom during emulation, the computer SES light starts flashing rapidly. Is this normal? I thought that this meant the computer has gone into limp mode?
If I make changes to the BIN and upload the full file to the autoprom, then disconnect the ECM and reconnect it, my changes take. Not sure why I am getting the rapid flashing SES light.
I am using the 42.xdf from the main website.
having issues emulating and making changes? Autoprom

IS this the reason why, if I turn the key off after emulating and real time tuning, I have to re upload the bin to the autoprom. If i just try to start the truck, the ECM goes into limp mode. Fast flashing SES light.Six_Shooter wrote:Could be a definition issue, could also be checksum disabling not being used.
You need to change the mask byte to AA to disable checksum and allow real time tuning.

That could very well be the reason why you get the SES light.
I actually forgot about that step a couple Sundays ago when I was tuning a friends car after he did a cam swap, and couldn't figure out why it would go into LHM, until a few days later when it hit me. I hadn't tuned anything "new" in quite a while, I have my checksums in my vehicles disabled permanently.

Open TP with your XDF loaded.
Press "F7"
Sort the "Location" by clicking the bar where the word is.
Look for item at location 08 (oer somewhere close to that)
Should be called "code Mask" or Engineering byte, etc.
Would be currently the mask of your bin (like 42, or 8D, 6E etc)
Double click to edit the item.
Enter "AA" and save.
Good to go.
