How To Instructions: ADS / XDF Files

Post by steveab63 »

Hello,

I am trying to get trouble codes off of a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix, 3.4L DOHC with an emission sticker that says "OBD 1 Compliant". I got a USB to 12 pin cable from OBD1.com. (There are only connections @ A, M,& J, so I can't use the paper clip method). I tried several of the applications they sent, but couldn't get any of them to work. They suggested using Tunerpro RT and sent me a link to the ADS/XDF files for my car. How do I use them? I just want to see error codes and realtime data, I'm not trying to reprogram chips or anything. Oh, and I don't want to corrupt the PCM and be in worse trouble.

Thanks very much !!!
Steve.
